Healthy Fruit Bowl: Mango Madness

Healthy Fruit Bowl
Yields: 1 Serving Difficulty: Easy Prep Time: 10 Mins

There is no better time of the year than now to start enjoying all the ripe juicy fruits everywhere you look. This Mango fruit bowl has many health benefits along with being absolutely delicious. Mango itself is a low calorie, high fiber fruit that serves as a prime resource for antioxidants and vitamins A & C. Then you top that with superfruit power, additional sources of fiber, and vital nutrients for your overall wellbeing.

Organic rolled oats also help in reducing cholesterol and blood sugar while regulating digesting with improved weight loss.

Did I mention it’s delicious and filling?

  • Cut the mango in half. You can share with someone or have 2 healthy mango fruit bowls ready to go on two separate days. Don't know how to cut a mango? You want to pick a mango that has a nice red and orange color. It should be slightly firm but soft when you push on the outside. Make sure to wash the mango prior to cutting it. My preferred method to cut the mango for a fruit bowl is to slice it north to south on the mango about a centimeter from the pit which should be at the top. This will help you avoid the long flat pit in the middle of the mango. Then use the knife to carve out an inner circle inside one of the halves and use a spoon for the finishing touch to get the pit out. You can make this as small or big as you want. However, make sure you leave some mango on the sides and bottom to enjoy with your bowl. You can eat the extra mango, chop it and use it in the bowl, or save it for later.
  • Add in the base layer to the fruit bowl which includes the greek yogurt and organic rolled oats.
  • Top the bowl with the fruits of your choosing. I tend to enjoy blueberries, strawberries, bananas, and even pineapple.

  3. Yes, another nutritional meal that is definitely on my list. I have seen your post on twitter with this recipe and think I have retweeted it on my profile. I totally agree that the healthy fruit bowl with mangos is very delicious with the honey, blueberries and oats. I eat oats and mangoes as a regular fruit for us in the Caribbean. I think that more persons should eat healthy food everyday. Thank you for sharing!

  4. This looks delicious! I love pretty much everything that goes into it, especially the mango itself. I’m trying to eat healthier these days, in an attempt to feed my cells instead of my more juvenile cravings. For the most part, I think I’ve come a long way, but I still have to keep it interesting to avoid reverting back to my old eating habits. This is about as different as it gets, so I’m going to have to try it. Thanks so much for sharing!
